Why I Almost Quit Physio – And Why I’m Glad I Didn’t

Have you ever been in a place where you feel like giving up on the very thing you’ve worked so hard for?
That was me in 2024.
After my ACL surgery, the rehab was brutal. Not just physically (every session pushed me to the edge), but emotionally too. I was supposed to be the physio, the one helping others heal. And yet, I was struggling to manage my own recovery.
I kept asking myself:
❓ How can I show up for others when I can barely show up for myself?
❓ Am I still good enough?
❓ Is this really the career for me?
I almost walked away.
Finding My Way Back
What kept me from quitting was rediscovering my “why.”
For me, physio isn’t just about exercises, rehab, and anatomy. It’s about helping performers like aerialists, dancers, gymnasts, and acrobats stay connected to the passion that makes them feel alive.
Injury takes more than strength; it can take away confidence, community, and joy. And I realised that supporting people through those setbacks is exactly why I became a physio in the first place.
Maybe You’re Feeling the Same Way
👉 Are you injured and worried you’ll never perform again?
👉 Do you feel stuck, not sure who to turn to for the right support?
👉 Are you losing confidence in your body, and maybe even in yourself?
If that’s you, I want you to know this: you don’t have to go through it alone.
Let’s Do This Together
Every time I see a performer move from injured ➝ empowered, I’m reminded why I didn’t quit. And I’d love to help you do the same.
