Sound familiar?

The tightness keeps coming back,
and stretching isn't touching it.

Tight tissue isn't random.
Something is asking it to work that hard.

A physiotherapist treating a client's back

Massage from a physio

“Treat the tight spot, then the reason it got tight.”

Your massage is with one of our chartered physiotherapists: Beth, Sam or Seb. They know what a tight muscle is protecting, so the hands-on work goes where it will actually help.

If something needs more than a massage, they will tell you straight, and what to do about it.

Is this for you?

This is for you if…

  • You train hard and want to keep training while you sort it out.
  • You sit at a desk all day and your neck, shoulders and lower back know it.
  • You want proper deep tissue work, not a spa hour.
  • You want to understand why it keeps happening.

It's not for you if…

  • You want a relaxation massage with candles and whale sounds.
  • You want a quick fix with nothing to do afterwards.
  • You have a new injury that needs a diagnosis first. That is a first physio appointment, and we will tell you.

Good to know

Your questions

What happens in a session?

A short chat about your training, your work and what hurts, a look at how you move, then hands-on treatment. You finish with two or three things to do at home.

Does it hurt?

Deep tissue work can be strong, but it should never be something you have to brace through. Pressure is set with you and changed whenever you ask.

Is 30 minutes enough?

For one or two areas, like a neck and shoulders or a pair of tight legs, yes. If it is more than that, or you are not sure what is going on, book a first physio appointment (50 minutes) instead.

Can I train afterwards?

Usually yes. Your physio will tell you what to keep, what to dial back, and for how long, based on what the session found.

Do I need to be an athlete?

No. Plenty of clients are desk workers whose neck and back take the load instead. Sports massage describes the approach, not who it is for.

Where are you?

GymNation, 26 Druid Street, London SE1 2EY, a few minutes from London Bridge station, in a proper training space rather than a treatment cubicle.

What should I wear?

Bring or wear kit you can move in. Shorts and a t-shirt are ideal.
